Caravan/motorhome + lifting roof

Market novelty from the think tank in Sassenberg

A lifting roof which until now is already known from a camping bus now can be offered from LMC for every caravan and nearly every motorhome.
So even a short layout offers 4 sleeping places. The first prototype will be presented on occasion of the holiday fair CMT in Stuttgart. It will be the Musica 470 E which with a body length of 5,62m now offers 6 full sleeping places.

Whereas the last season was dominated by the new semi-integrated models with bunk beds the lifting roof could become a new trend. Both versions allow even on short layouts two additional full value sleeping places. But is the bunk bed really the best solution for everyone? In case of the lowered bunk bed the usage of the living room is partly considerably reduced. In any case, the seating unit can not be used anymore and the passage to the driver’s cab is blocked. And after all: How could a solution for caravans look like?

The LMC staff in the construction department was very ambitious to get new ideas.
The lifting roof offers a lot of advantages: In case you need two additional sleeping places, you still can use the interior room completely. The internal headroom remains
unchanged and in the wall cupboards you can use the whole volume and are not restricted by bunk bed techniques.

If you want, upwards day and night can be a place to play and to cuddle. With a lying surface of 140 x 200 cm the additional room on the roof is also suitable as a sleeping place for two adults. An easy access is guaranteed by means of a two-piece ladder which easily can be stowed in the wardrobe.

In case the two additional sleeping places are not needed, the lifting roof simply remains down below. Above the opening for the access, the roof light of the lifting roof is fitted perfectly so that the living room still gets enough light from above. Then, the vehicle is also isolated over the roof and completely sealed and therefore also suitable for a usage in winter like a normal vehicle. The exterior height of the vehicle increases by 24 cm.
Also the comfort isn’t missed out: Under the lifting roof one lies on a comfortable mattress with duckboards. It is heated by ventilation from down below so that the lying surface is always very cosy.

Depending with whom you spend your holidays the idea is flexible and in every respect adequate. Whether for grand parents or parents with or without (grand) children these vehicles are really made for different generations.

As the construction is independent of the layout, nearly every layout wish can be fulfilled - whether caravan or motorhome, double bed in the rear, single beds or queens bed.

For winter camping the bunk bed variation may gain points. But for many other
holiday forms and family constellations this idea is a real solution with many practical advantages. It is especially interesting for caravans and semi-integrated motorhomes. Also for fully integrated models it can be an alternative to the bunk bed over the cockpit. There, storage capacities can be foreseen all round which also simply look better for the cosiness of the seating unit.

The lifting roof will not be offered for alcove vehicles and for the shortest caravan –
the Viola 330.

The additional weight for this option amounts to 110 kg. Depending on the layout,
a HEKI, an air conditioning or SAT system may not be possible anymore.
The price for the lifting roof amounts to 3.450 Euro.
